The Alamitos Heights neighborhood is tucked away behind Belmont Shore and Belmont Park at the north end of Alamitos Bay. Its residents enjoy a quiet, residential neighborhood within walking distance of the beach and bay-front parks — without the summer tourist traffic congestion and noise found in neighborhoods closer to the beach.
The secluded Alamitos Heights neighborhood is bounded by 7th Street on the north and Pacific Coast Highway on the east.
A neighborhood of single family homes
Most of the neighborhood is made up of single family homes along tree-lined streets. Originally, the homes in Alamitos Heights were ranch style homes, built in the 1950s and 1960s. Over the last two decades, these single story homes have been replaced by much larger ones.
About Alamitos Beach. The Alamitos Beach neighborhood is adjacent to the East Village Arts District in downtown Long Beach. It is primarily a neighborhood of rental apartments and condos. It is nowhere near Alamitos Heights or Alamitos Bay.
