Long Beach has become a ‘festival city’ with one special event or another going on almost every week, particularly in summer. There are also conventions and trade show with appeals to out-of-towners as well as locals. Better yet, year ’round there are good places to eat and interesting places to see in Long Beach.
I’ve included Downtown Long Beach in this category because it really is a restaurant and entertainment hub for locals, tourists and conventioneers visiting the city. Second Street in Belmont Shore also has many good places to dine, many of then offering international cuisine, plus casual dining neighborhood restaurants.
Also on this list is the Japanese Garden on the campus of Cal State Long Beach as well as the Museum of Latin American Art in the Arts District. And, of course, what could be more archetypal than photos from a recent Sand Sculpture Festival.
